WIP Cryx Deathripper

I know its not finished yet, but I was hoping for a little help on how to get it completed. When it is done, this image will come down and a finished image put up. I'm stuck on the basing color really. Its modelled as wooden planking but since there are so many warm tones in the model itself I'm not sure how, and what colors, to paint the wood the model is standing on. Any advice would be appreciated.
