Pale Horseman sculpt
Aaahhh, all those things nurgle….. Altough this mini began life as a warhorse for a Knight of the White Wolf conversion, it soon was clear that it would be way too massive for the rider, making the knight look definitely flimsy. As the sculpt itself was not bad in itself I decided to give it a slight twist and do a mighty centaur instead. These being mutated beasts, there just had to be a chaotic touch and I was deep in my nurglesque phase…what can I say. It is purposefully a little emaciated as well as bloated in other parts, giving it a feel of being something of the four horsemen all rolled into one: Hunger, pestilence, war and death could be seen as aspects here (ugh, I seem to get delirious in my old age..). A future paintjob probably will reflect the mental picture of a pale horse I have had in mind. I plan to contrast the armour pieces with dark(blackened), corroded colours. The sculpt was done entirely with magic sculpt, the mane is made of wire strands. (the pic is taken after priming) It took quite a long time to conjure up a suitable base for him, as I really wanted to raise the mini up, but didn´t want a simple rock outcropping, so in the end the corrupted whatever-he´s-standing-on came to life. It will be drenched in slime (the mini as well) after painting, I think, making the whole thing nicely repulsive. So, that´s it for now. Please let me know what you think, your comments are always greatly appreciated! Thank you for your time and HAPPY PAINTING / SCULPTING!
