Slaine

Once upon a time...there was a comic book named Slaine, Artwork from one Simon Bisley. i read it back when i was a kid, and got one copy into my hands recently! it was not only nostalgic: i decided ad hoc i had to go somewhere with this inspiration and set to work on this mini. it is composed from many, many different sources, mainly GW plastics for Slaine himself, but as there were no suitable riding beasts to buy, i had to create one mainly from scratch. personally i like Slaine´s haircut most, but it is up to you to decide for yourself... by the way: if you don´t like the mini, check out the comic anyway, its a classic masterpiece! Thank you for looking!

You seemed to have captured alot of his essence, and it still has the 'simon bisley' feel to it. Even without being too familiar with the character, this guy is very well done. Good job.

thank you for commenting! as this mini was quite ambitous in regard of the conversion, i am more than pleased that you like it. i totally agree with you that the paintjob could be improved. as it is the pose, the conversion job and the celtic knotwork provide the highlights... this is exactly why i am most thankful for your advice, as i generally tend to "call it a day" when the main effects are in place, neglecting (conscious or subconscious) some details. Happy painting to you!
