Lord of the woods sculpt
This is a little piece that has haunted me to do for quite some time... since the time GW has introduced the Orion Wood Elf Lord it urged me to do the painting in the book some justice, for the actual mini always annoyed me (most of the wood elf line sways between great (some few, at least) and horrible (most of ´em) in my humble eyes)... the time has come now to do something about it and emboldened with some sculpting experiences in the past i set about to make me my own antlered Hunter... Normally i wouldn´t send in a work in progress anymore (history shows: it makes me go lazy with the particular mini), but this has been such an investment of time to date and painting it will be probably even more consuming, so what the heck... the sculpt itself is almost complete with some minor cosmetics to conclude it, but of course, if you have any advice to improve the mini, please let me know! ah: the sculpt is from a multitude of "stuffs": Epoxy putty for the (cheap) armature and rough muscle allocation (as in the pic below), magic sculp (my favourite!) for almost everything else and some little amount of green stuff for some extra detailing. also below is a pic of the unprimed mini, showing off its various materials... Sculpting can be most satisfying, i recomend everyone to give it a try! have fun!
