Great work Andy. Agree with previous comments about strength of contrast and you really do have an eye for where to drop those highlights, something I always battle and usually lose with! I do think the blends could be smoother and if you can tighten up here your mini's will be even better.

Super job, love him....very eye catching indeed.

Tried a bit of mid tone blending Crackpot will have to see your take on glazing as I tend to do it at the end after all the layering is done; do you do it after each layer has been added?

Not after every layer, that would be too much, but after a couple of layers. Can't give you an exact number, depends very much how comfortable I am with the transition. If I get the feeling the last layers are a bit too rough I add some glazes, then work further on the layers. Keep in mind, if you add glazes of your midtone you blend your layers but at the same time you loose contrast, so your darkest areas become brighter and your brightest areas become darker. SO, after adding a couple of glazes to blend your color transitions, you often have to add more shadows and highlights again. In the end it means: "Rinse and repeat"... ;) You can iterate this process only one time or as often as you like, it just depends on how smooth you want your transition and how much time and patience you have. :D

Voted, very good. I esp like the sand effect base.
You can not go wrong with a Rackham!

Is a shame you didnt put a close up of the salamander that's on the top, it looked great on the wip photos I looked at.

looks finished, voted, good job the painting standard is up to your usual standar "epic" although the base makes it look like a jar of very expensive anti wrinkle cream lol...its not is it oops lol "ophidian" anti wrinkle cream removes unsightly wrinkles and scales, look 20 years younger lol. I prefer cassars "bigature" grow it big cream for men ;) lol

If you two have quite finished, it's clearly not anti wrinkle cream or the more dodgy bigature cream but hemorrhoid cream as he is quite clearly a pain in the asp!

Get it ......asp ...ass....oh well please yourself!

Im making good on the threat of doing a 10 ball i.e. a chaos squad. Decided to do one from each aspect of chaos and stick them all on a big base. So on to the nurgle guy. Doing one of my all time favourite minis which unbelievabley for me is a new forgeworld mini. Going for the necrotic skin look and I have listened yes those who know me will shout foul as I never liusten to any one but yay verily and all that i have very thinly layered and wet blended and glazed in between layers. Lots more to go but quite pleased so far for an evenings work.
