Tried a bit of mid tone blending Crackpot will have to see your take on glazing as I tend to do it at the end after all the layering is done; do you do it after each layer has been added?
Not after every layer, that would be too much, but after a couple of layers. Can't give you an exact number, depends very much how comfortable I am with the transition. If I get the feeling the last layers are a bit too rough I add some glazes, then work further on the layers. Keep in mind, if you add glazes of your midtone you blend your layers but at the same time you loose contrast, so your darkest areas become brighter and your brightest areas become darker. SO, after adding a couple of glazes to blend your color transitions, you often have to add more shadows and highlights again. In the end it means: "Rinse and repeat"...

You can iterate this process only one time or as often as you like, it just depends on how smooth you want your transition and how much time and patience you have.
