That's coming along nicely for sure.

The face of the sculpt reminds me of someone... I think a mix of Kurt Russel, and the actor that plays Grant Ward in Agents of Shield.

Haha, Ter, just saw your comment. Can't we all have nice metals?

It's not showing up too well with non-light box photos, but I highlighted and shaded the cape:

The metals, skin, and cloak look real nice. The beard and mustache look a little too "plastic" to me. May just be because they are slightly glossy though.

Alright, shield time. The pictures are a little off because I had to use my phone. It's still not finished, thinking about adding a small splatter of blood for that freshly done with battle look.

Looking Dam good. I know you have shaded the Cape I think it still needs more. Shield has done great details. Nice work.

Looking awesome flu , yes I think the cape needs darkening before the hi lighting is done to show its a richer silk or cotton. I'm sure the Cape being purely ornamental the material would have been a fancy one. Darken then bring up the hi lights to indicate a sheen or glimmer.

Okay I set up the lightbox to see if I can get better photos of the cape. For some reason it keeps getting washed out in the normal WIP shots.

Got a nice surprise in the mail today. I ordered this thing Wednesday night and it got here already. Francois l'Olonnais from Pegaso Models

This is my first 75mm figure. It's always a bit shocking when you make a jump to a larger scale. Obviously I knew it would be bigger than 54mm but I wasn't aware just how much bigger it was:

And here's some box art shots, as you can see there's loads of freehand on the jacket and cape, will be quite the challenge.

I can see the cape much better now it shows shading work much more. I can also see some hair on the arms before it was just an intuition that they were there. Beard and hair look much more worked with this setting or maybe you have worked on them in between both pictures? In any case much more better now too. I like how you painted his eyes ;)

This new miniature is a really nice one! reminds me of those musqueteers (<--- not sure if you call them this way) that I saw at soldat de plom contest. Bigger miniatures are nice, I like them, though I think the approach to them is like doing a long term project... you will see you''l have plenty of room to work on... better took a nice n.2 brush!! xD

Maenas hit all the points. The hair definately looks better, but the beard still looks like one color of black to me. But take my opinion for what it is worth.

Thanks guys. Canny, this buccaneer is really cool you should pick it up.

Shifting back to the Chaos Space Marine, I started to build the base. The idea I had was a a piece of earth ripped from the ground, floating in the air while demons and spirits escape from the pit below.

The top bit will have a brick floor painted with an Iron Hands logo, and the guy will have one foot standing on a broken Iron Hand marine's helmet.
