Pestilence Unveiled

So a while ago the enormously talented bgcdazzler sculpted this demon bust (image nicked from his WIP for demonstration purposes):

I was pondering it and the thought occurred to me that he would do really nicely as War if the four horsemen were demons. Then I got to puzzling over what the other horsemen would look like and decided to have a bash at sculpting Pestilence.

Here's how he turned out:

The colours on his skin were an experiment I did with mixing different Fimo colours to make custom colours. The experiment was partially successful. Unfortunately the lighter colour I used has a tendency to turn everything into a pastel tone. It darken a bit when baked.

This little guy will be posted off to bgcdazzler as soon as I can find a suitable box.

I hope you guys like him.

@SaintToad - I'm glad you like him. :)

Unfortunately, despite loving the book, that isn't an Ender's Game reference. Although it would be cool if I had thought of it. I was thinking about diseases etc and figured that a rat would be a good inclusion for obvious plague references. Decided to have him burrowing in rather than out on a whim.

P.S. I'm so glad you could identify it as a rat.

@meaty_nosebleeds - I don't have an issue that my natural tendency seems to be for cute. :) I'll go with it while I'm learning and hopefully be able to change things up a bit after a while. Plus the boys could do with a bit of cute every now and again. :p I'll just keep playing and see what happens.

Glad you like him. :)

i don't take issue with my "cuteness problem" either, it's a great and fun way to learn after all. i'm just finding changing things up a bit frustrating at the moment, hence the harsh words on the subject.

it's a good idea to go with the flow and let yourself do what's comfortable, trying to force yourself to do change styles etc. before you're ready will set you back more than you will improve. the boys and the hobby in general need more cute too so keep it up!

Hehe yeah he does look like an undead shrek. But job well done. I think he is looking fantastik. I really really like what you did with those horns and the color mixture.

@meaty_nosebleeds - You can do it! *pom-poms deployed in a tactical defrustration manoeuvre*

@Digga - Thank you. :) It's good to hear that I have not disappointed one of my sculpting masters.

Cute is just your current style, as you learn you'll find you can adapt your style to others, and as long as your enjoying doing it there's no problem
