really excellent work so far. The base is very well put together and the running water is perfect.

Very pretty indeed. Very nice blending. Would drive me crazy as well... drybrushing ftw!

I am going to try to help you a bit with some real-life aspects which are a bit off. The platform with yellow/black lines is in fact an elevator platform, since all of these yellow-black lines are on each side of the rims. Seeing that it is close to the floor it still needs to lift off or go down. In this case go up.
Then, pipes in blue mean something cold is running through it i.e. no danger in touching them for example. The paint on the pipes runs off downward which is good.

If you want a meltdown effect, which I see in the back of the mini (the plaque of iron behind the sm's back), then you'd have to fit it to the base further. Most things are black after meltdown, you almost do not see rust anymore.

Your choices are good but you need to structure them for realness. Of course you're always free to invent what you want since it's a fantasy world.

WOW thanks for the detailed feedback I did not realise the in-depth backgrounds for the worlds. TBH I just glued things on as it went along LOL, going for a real old, based up space craft. I don't know much about any of the worlds or environments as you can tell :)

Finished termy and base will post some picts, entering him in salute :) After going blind painting red I decided to turn to blue, i'm having right trouble - the highlights keep turning chalky. :(
This is the first finecast mini i have painted and the quality is terrible. Going from the space hulk terminator in plastic (quality was outstanding) to this was like going back 20 years in quality.

I never realy had any problems with the blue never went chalky. Hmm how old is the blue your using mate? TBH if its old I'd throw it away and buy another pot. The pics look ok to me dont look too chalky to me. I used to do regal blue shaded into ultramarine blue and then just brighten the mix by adding skull white. Give it the ocasional wash of asurmen blue and its all good never as i said got chalkyness.

Yarp thats why they call it finecrap!! But just think if you can paint this pile of finecrap to a good standard youll be outstanding on a metal mini! Im not biased against finecast....................honest:silly!:

Nononono you are both wrong....wrong I say. Finecast is the best ever material.

not sure about the chalkyness or why you are getting it, sometimes the thin paint can go chalky on you. Try adding in some of the blue with the white to see if that solves it. I would think about adding some purples, reds and greens in the shadows.
