That\'s the best looking minotaur I\'ve seen in a long time. For some reason, I\'m awfully picky about minotaur minis. They\'re never JUST right for me. Still some of the best ones were older GW ones.

Can\'t believe I\'m saying that.lol

That minotaur is HUGE! They (Ilyad) also have this one (from Allan C\'s site - he\'s sculpted both of them...):

This one is smaller (and much cheaper... :) ) but is exceptionally cool nonetheless.

Just for a comparison, I took a pic of the Ilyad mini, with a lovely old GW Minotaur (bought off our very own Trevor - where is he these days?) and a Rackham goblin (part painted)....

He is indeed.....huge ;)

Hmmm...not sure. They are shown under Dogs of War (but I guess you already knew that), but they don\'t look like Ogres to me.....??? I am sure someone more learned can answer your question :)

I wish I\'d known about the Ilyad Minotaur a couple of years ago before trying to find an old GW one and converting it.

The Ilyad is even carrying an axe...perfect!

Hey Romain...it looks like you haven\'t used any undercoat - the wrist bands in particular. Is this right??? If so, how come?!

I never liked GW\'s minotaurs. These look great though. I love the football (U.S.) pose of the one and the bull charge pose on the other. I\'ve never seen a minotaur fig that looked like he was doing something a bull would do. Fantastic!

Actually, in the comic book, both are 6-8 year olds. They were both kidnapped by a sorcerer who was later broke. So he transformed Goum into the big guy he now is to fight as a gladiator and kept his little sister as pressure to control him.

Hey Sonny, I use the standard GW white primer but I\'m quite generous with it! It looks very wet when it goes on, but dries lovely and none of the detail is missing. I tend to do a single layer, see how it looks and then add another. I always spray outside, which means the model dries quickly.

@Romain: So you are the opposite to me then ;) You really have used a light touch on the primer - I find if I do that, I get very mixed results with the worst being it goes grainy. I love the skin colour you have used and his loin cloth looks great too :)

@Ebonbudda: Ilyad are the new Rackham! LOL I find the models daunting because of a) their size (the barbarian Avicenna did for example is tiny but has so much detail or in the case of the minotaur, he\'s huge!) and b) the level of detail they can achieve with resin casts. Funnily enough, they aren\'t brittle though and are easy to prep - make sure you give them a nice wash in soapy water to remove the mould release agent (sorry if I\'m teaching my grandmother to suck eggs with that last bit!). But you must get one and obviously let us see how you get along with it :)

Some yes, others no.

All are part of their \"Retour des Dieux\" game. It\'s made up of two sub-universes that intermix :

*) Armageddon;
*) Chroniques de la Lune Noire (Chronicles of the Black Moon)

Chroniques de la Lune Noire is a french comic book written by Froideval. He teamed up with Gary Gygax to get AD&D popular in France. So the comic book portrays one of Froideval\'s RPG characters (a semi-elf) as he goes from a pretty innocent and naïve adventurer to ruler of a kingdom. The story is a bit cheesy (who am I kidding, it\'s mouse paradise :p) but has some nice art and is great inspiration for RPGs.
