Dear JohnC,
this letter is not a dear john letter. IT is all about solutions. First, fill a medium Ziploc bag with flour or powdered sugar and the next time she complains about minis, say \" I can\'t afford minis, I spend my money on something we can both enjoy, Coke, and hold up the bag.\" When she wakes up or comes to or whatever, tell her that you ordered the new Titan and that it only costs, one tenth of what the bag would have cost. Or start viewing internet porn and tell her it is only $3.99 a day and it will be discretely billed at the end of the month and you can cancel any time and that she can look too. OR, you could kindly ask her to help you file the bases off of some old lead minis and remind her that everyone licks their fingers to get a better grip.
Or do as I do, work your ass off doing whatever she wants done, mowing the lawn, chopping firewood, milking the yak,distracting the children while she scrapbooks, taking out the trash, picking your dirty clothes up off the floor and putting them in the basket/hamper, (maybe even do some laundry) and then always, always, before you go to paint, ask her if you can do anything for her, and if you get a no, then say, \" I am going to paint, if you need me just holler\" (like to see if that word makes it through any translation programs
)
she can only work me like a dog for so long, before she rewards me with ME time.

Seriously, though, I was talking to my wife (who recently moved our two bedroom apartment with no help from her no good gone to Iraq to make money husband) and she said she\'ll have all my mini stuff out of storage and set up when I get home for R&R so I can paint until the wee hours of the morning.
I think she gets it.

hmm, my gf doesn\'t do the random thing. but for christmas and my birthday she\'ll buy me a few minis. Which for her is alot because she is on her own and paying for college. However, if I don\'t let her get me them she will sneak off and buy them anyway. It\'s sweet of her in the 5 years we have been together I have been unable to stop her.
BTW... her birthday is coming up. I want to suprise her with a prettty fairy mini. I have shown her mini... saying I was going to paint it for me. She has yet to like a single one. Can anyone direct me to a \"pretty fairy?\"

@steelcult...I think she more than gets its, she knows how to look after youHow much better a way to go is there to building a stronger relationship than to acknowledge those things which are essential to our persona and well being? None that I know of.

I know scrapbookers. I\'ve seen what they do. They have as many different kinds of scissors as we do Dremel bits, and more hole punchers than we do paint brushes, and they all cost the price of an moderately priced brush and some more than a Series 7.
You know, there are hole punches that are in shapes of things like leaves and such... I wonder if they\'d make good leaf litter ... lol
Seriously, though, I\'d do a run-check on how much she ends up spending on scrapbooking and set limits for both if there\'s a problem with money. This way she can\'t complain about you making a purchase for your hobby if she\'s allowed the same.
If she does, I\'d throw the \"you\'re a hyprocrite\" argument in her face the next time she starts bellyaching, then quietly point out why she is. Of course, this could piss her off more, but even if she doesn\'t understand it doesn\'t mean she has to complain. At least you\'re not sitting unbathed on the couch in your tighty-whities and a dirty t-shirt watching football, drinking beer, and getting Cheeze-Whiz all over the couch and her scrapbooking stuff. lol

Ok well i saw this GW brettonion mini that someone converted to have fairy wings.
the brett fig(which i can\'t remember the name of) is sitting on the side of a horse and looks kinda like a fairy,b ut the wings really give it the cool look. srry i couldn\'t be more help

That, or she wants some time to herself when I come home after 120 days in the desert. lol
My wife isn\'t too hardcore into the whole scrapbooking \'cult\'. She has her bags full of tools, paper, photos, etc, but she doesn\'t get too crazy with it. She has a few friends who are though.
She\'s very artsy/craftsie, but for some reason the concept of painting minis is lost on her.
I did talk to my wife about some of this. Not so much of a WTFO confrontation, but I did want to know what her deal is.
For her I think it might be a \'money\' thing, but between the 2 of us we make enough money to keep our house going, and bills paid with money left over. My Mini habit is not so consuming where we cannot pay bills, nor is my mini time infringing on chores, or family time. But when she sees $x, $y, and $z from GW, CMON, or the local stockist, she gets pissed off.
No out of control spending issues, but she may be predisposed towards this due to her family\'s spending habits. I\'ll keep quiet about that.
Sorry to vent, just got a little jealous of everyone else\'s SOs supporting y\'alls \'habit\', when I have to go it alone or catch flack for it.

My wife supports my addiction, even to the the point of getting the Inquisitor Grunvald Bust six months before Christmas and successfully hiding it from me. (Mind you she did hide it in the bed linen drawer, so she knew it wouldn\'t get discovered. lol )

Hey Lloyd that\'s great news, I\'ll put some tourist info packs together for you. (in fact two sets of them one for both of you.)
After Yesterday\'s little gathering (Some minor painting competition with a trip to the pub) I can guarentee you a huge amount of fun..........................Especially if Tooshy & Avicenna are there!
