Being Understood

I took my wife out for lunch yesterday. She blew me away when we went into a store and she started pulling Rackham blisters off the wall. She bought me 12 packs!!!!! What a great gift, of course she says she has dibbs on her favourite but that suits me just fine. She is a stamper so she understands the obsessive nature of the hobbylol

Does anyone else have a tale of this nature, or heaven forbid the opposite type.

Well, my current wife let me spend 1/5th of our tax return at the local mini shop - and helped me find the minis I was looking for.:D

Well you\'ve got the real seal of approval my wife who\'s viewing with me really likes this one. She thinks that the colour scheme and paintwork is one of the best we\'ve seen. So much so that she\'s just told me to get the mini and paint it. (There\'s a first). As for my opinion:- This is a very finely worked paintjob well deserving the score. The illustrations on the book remind me of Leonardo Di Vinci. Well done. ( & Thanks)

I keep all purchases completely secret from my wife.

She does however constantly wonder why I lock the door to my little art room...

I tell her it is because of the porn.lollol

For me it is usually a matter of trading stamps for minis. You get that so I get this and vice versa. She hasn\'t noticed yet that my briefcase is my new mode of bringing minis into the house, or has she?lollollol

@GreenStuffLisa only has an older sister who is spoken for sorry;)

well, an ex boyfriend i had never did understand why I valued painting toy soldiers so much, especially since it did not really involve any creative porcesses, and it wasn\'t nearly as important as the other creative departments at my old work...never did forgive him that one.

@Tammy he probably didn\'t have hobbies of his own, and if I dare open up a can, alot of us males of the species can be short on the understanding department;) hopefully we learn as we go aided by a good teacher( read significant other )

BTW if what you do isn\'t art or creative what did he call it?

We all know Tammy\'s not an artist! lol Don\'t want to start that argument again! ;)

As for understanding... there is no understanding what motivates the female of the species!

My GF really doesn\'t understand the little model soldiers thing. But as I say, she\'s unfathomable to me, so that makes us about even!

@minimart: well, that would have been a good explanation, if it wasn\'t for the fact he worked at the same place I did.....

I would venture to say, not having known the person that possibly your talent was something he could not match so rather than overcompensating in his own work to lift himself up he diminished yours to deal with his own issues. Dime store psychology;)

There are plenty of men here who willingly acknowledge your talent.BTW did I mention how insecure we males are?lollollol
