Come on sprogrot get here today please!!!! I am really curious/excited to see where the detail you put into your sculpt differs from your extraordinary paint job.

You, my friend, are a talented person. :worship:

That eye is absolutely gorgeous and I love the blend of colours you've used on that side of the face so far. The dots in the eye socket work well to add texture to the area. A very light glaze of your purple will push them back a bit and make them less definitely a pattern if that's bothering you.

I'm glad that those links were helpful. :) Finding clear info on sculpting on the interwebs seems to be more challenging than it should be.

Ha, I hope for your sanity he gets there soon. Should hopefully be there this week.

Thanks for the comments all: I'm actually not happy with the eye yet: I wanted to do a kind of corona effect on it, so might repaint it tonight. But there's so many other bits to do as well...

@Arch: the highlights in the eye socket weren't bothering me until now! Your idea is a good one, I'll blend them in.

And yes - there are precious few tutorials on sculpting: I'll have to write one if the lady goes well. I'm sceptical so far...

Hmm. Not sure yet.

Here's some more bits done to the lady. Still no idea what she's going to be...

Much respect for Mr Dazz, this is all just so amazing. Nice eye dude. So what is the scale of your awesome Ork ? 1/8? 1/9?

Good start on working the basic body shape in on your lady. The stomach area is starting to look nicely defined. I hope you're enjoying the experience.

Plus you could always ask your wife to live-model for you...for the sake of accuracy of course. :p

Gosh, I couldn't ask my wife to do that. Besides, she isn't bald. :)

A bit more Sprogrot painting, including eye 2.0:

I'm happier with the little crescent in this eye. Just need to make the pupil a perfect circle, and this should be done.

The he other eye is proving tricky. I made it more milky and weepy, but need to do a lot more to this one to make it work. Might need to use some UHU effect on it, but I'm not sure.

I have to say I'm pleased with this picture though - this is pretty much the expression I wanted to capture on his face - a sort of smug, lazily pleased with himself look - and I'm so happy that it has worked. There are lots of flaws and naivety in the sculpt (I'm writing copious notes!), but all in all this picture makes me think the results are not too bad.

Bit mor shading on the face. I've upped the green, and highlighted the lip and chin. There's a lot of painting, but not much difference. Ah well: isn't that always the way?

and the other cheek is done:

started working on the rusty old helmet, here:

a bit more helmet, plus laying down the initial rough pattern for doing the backs of the ears:

that was a bit longer than I thought it would be. Sorry about that.

He's looking good. I really love the style of painting that you're doing on him, almost more canvas than mini. It works really well.

I'm a fan of your work on Sprogrot! Lots of colours and the eye is really lively even for a somewhat battered orc.

PS: package on its way! left at the P.Office yesterday afternoon.

Paint better noob, god if you were half as good as the sculptor who sculpted this you would be a god dam magician! :p HAHAHA. You can sculpt, you can paint, you can base, I wonder...can you fly too? I mean, it wouldn't surprise me at this point. Just incase you did not figure it out. I really love this sculpt and paint job your doing. :)

Thanks everyone - he's not too bad so far. I'm mighty bored of green skin though, so might do the clothing instead tonight.

Tero: he's 75mm tall: so I think about 1/9 - but not entirely sure.

Maenas: thanks! Looking forward to receiving it.

Krule: glad you like it. I blatantly stole the sponge stippling technique from Darth. Shh, don't tell! The scratches are pure paint, so quite pleased with how they turned out. Oh, and though it is so rusty it doesn't really count, this is officially my first bit of nmm!

edit: oh, Digga, you're making me blush! I promise I can't fly (without at least an aeroplane, pilot and cabin crew, and at least two fingers of whisky anyway...).

@Zab: robot witch? Me? That's funny. Hahaha. Ahahahaaaa. MwahahahaaAaa. AAAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAA!! -bzzt-

Ahem.

@Arch: no, that's not all! I need your help deciding what my lady should be! 1920s Steampunk Moll? Low rent superhero? Futuristic guntoting prostitute? Robot witch?

Suggestions and advice, please!

Yeah so i got the bust of that ork today. I can't totally confirm that you are indeed a robot witch. That is some nice sculpting :)

Nice try zab. I tried that trick last time I played werewolf. What trick is that you ask? The one where you point out other robot witches to hide the fact your one too. Clever ploy I grant you but I see through your ruse.

Mmhmm. Mmhhm. I hear what you are saying. Here's the thing, though. You might be one and not even know it o_O I mean seriously, you sculpted this right?
