Thanks all: you're all very kind.
Yep, I'm leaning that way... in fact I gave that a go tonight. Here's the steps:
1. Took off the hood, hair, and added some creases into quite plain clothes. Now you can see the veiny neck a bit better, so I'm happy with that.
2. Now added a strap around the robe – I'm thinking a bit of brocade freehand when it comes to painting this chap. The funny headband is just a base I could bake for the ridiculously hard to make bishop's hat...
3. And here is the hat. It's a bit wobbly in places. Not sure if I want it to be a bit battered – I'm thinking of painting him up with a bit of dirt and blood spatter, like he's a proper crazy zealot, but it may be to rubbish. It's unbaked, so I can always try it again.
That'll do for the mo. Have a good 'un everyone!
