BloodFather's Axis of Chaos

Looks better mate. With the new placement and this camera angle it looks like he's giving fair warning to an adversary before jumping down that little slope and laying in. For your gallery montage, I suggest at least one closer shot from this angle that really shows the figure and doesn't try and get all of the base in.

Aces! Remember, in real life folks would be leaning in and mouth breathing on your work to get a better look :p So pick one or two nice wide shots and make the rest closer detail shots to bring the viewer in so they can appreciate your skill and hard work.

Oh good I'm glad y'all like. Trying to get just the right shots and it is taking me time but let's hope it pays off. But thanks Zab. I agree with one or two distance shots and then relative close ups. Maybe 5 total shots. Debating which background to use...

Keep the background simple mate. You want the focus of the viewer to be wholly on the great NMM work and skin tones you worked into this one. Anything more than a simple gradient in the background is going to pull the eye and disrupt the illusion of the NMM.

A simple colour or gradient, i'd use off white and play around in photoshop to get the best compliment, then shoot it. When closing in i'd use that awesome blade to draw the viewer

You that's exactly where I would've placed him when I saw the base. Great job this way . The slightly off center creates a perfect center point where the mini doesn't get lost in the busy base. Encore. 10/10 points +

Man BFK I am torn, I liked the original composition of it, but also could see what the others were talking about, and the second I think is just as great, even with the cool background image. It makes me want to get closer and see whats actually going on there. All around I think you did a Bangarang job and deserve an easy 10. Now if you could kindly supply me with your address I will be heading your direction to enter it in the contest for you.

It actually looks really great without those red flowers I stand corrected. Def a great job. Though next mini (a single) work on a smaller area. This one however is done and has been viewed by many I can speak for myself as well as the majority when I say, this is an outstanding job .. The painting, the modelling , the cot choice and everything In between. This is a stellar job for such a big time consuming venture that you set out on. Great great work here Ben. Really impressive miniature masterpiece. It's GOINGNIN MY FAVORITES LIST WHEN IT GETS TO THE GALLERY MATE. you are an outstanding miniature model master. And it was a very very extremely informative w i p. the stature really came our wonderful. You got the hang if some tough things very naturally .from The nmm right down to the statues natural weathering and oxidation. It's really a fantastic piece and I'm only going to say this once. I live for competition !!! Every piece I do is geared towards a potential Golden demon entry. I've been to 15 golden demon comps. And please take this at face value and nothing less I know when something needs to be seen and this needs to be taken to 5 th dimension and you just have to get the piece there , that's all you have to do. Once there this piece will do the rest and I guarantee you'll be coming home an estatic young man after going. Like I said the choice to ho is your own. But please mark my words and get this entered. Frankly I've never felt more strongly about anything in my life .. Get to it now quick march, Godspeed and safe travels. ;)

It's looking very good now. It was the right decision to remove the flowers. They were too big and distracting. Although I still think the base is a bit too large for this one mini. You could put a couple of sneaky goblins to the edge of the base surrounding him which he tries to intimidate by pointing his sword towards them (just an idea to make it tell a story, but it would be a lot of work).

Nice work! I like the intricate basework and your NMM is really coming along. I especially like how the sword turned out. Great job!

Wow, thanks B. That comment means a lot to me coming from the Man who beat CMON with his Lost in the Woods piece. I used to be certain you were the best historical/TMM artist out there, but then you show your versatility with that fine piece of NMM/fantasy greatness.

Anyway, thank you everyone for the kind words, but if you follow the link above you'll see I am struggling with my background. Briefly, I lose the perfect lighting when I put a background behind the mini, so I am searching for someone who may know how to superimpose one using PS or Gimp. Or is this a difficult procedure that asks too much time and effort from someone?

Thanks again everyone for following. I hope to have the gallery sub up soon. Cheers!
