Gosh darnit!!! I would love...LOVE to take part in this one. I agree that Dark Age diesjt produce my favorite minis, but recently they have added a lot to their line up and some quite creative figures are now available. However, I am 50% complete on my current project, and then I have to tackle Gokan, a 54mm beauty. (BTW-Very much astounded that you never threw your hat in the ring on this one. Seems right up your alley. I am tempted to buy the figure and send to you so you are compelled to paint it along with the rest of us regular CMoNers. )
I am also surprised that CMoN finally has a new competition to speak of. Months ago in the feedback/bugs thread I asked for more competitions, because it seems there used to be a lot of them and now there are not any. Was there even one contest in 2014 on here? Anyway, I can't tell you how disappointing it is, but I just won't have the time, and I travel to good old N'Orleans for 2 weeks at the end of the month (I'll get to watch my Ohio State Buckeyes in the first ever college football playoff).
CMoN Gods, if you are listening, push the contest to February. That is all.

I'd like to go on the record now as saying that Conan-Hyborian Age make possibly the best line of miniatures, ever. Just go to their FB page and click on photos to see what I am talking about. They've only produced a few greens but man are they impressive. What's more, their lineup of sculptors is incredible. Stephan Simon (whose dwarf I am currently painting) and none other than Thomas, the genius from Kingdom Death, as well as others of this calibre. Patiently scroll through the pics. Personally, I like that crazy looking shaman sculpted by Simon, and then that mummy towards the end of the pics. Please, take a look. The Kickstarter will start next month, I believe.

I bought the preacher with the shotgun and book and one of those robots that is reaching out. Gonna make it look like the robot is touching the book and being "enlightened". That's the plan, wanna bet i don't get in done in time? Maybe I'll cheat it and use lots of OSL to minimize painting time

Sure you did. "Accidentally" It's cool if the dawrves freaked you out, I understand. I have trouble with moonmin82's wip thread because of all the scary clowns. Every now and then i click on it by mistake a poop a little in terror :embarrassed:

If, by some strange stretch my Gokan fails to show up soon, then Dark Age it is for me. They sell these in abundance at my FLGS. Also, there is a slight chance I finish my current project this week.
Ah, nvm. I keep forgetting, I am going out of town (if it were up to me, I'd stay home and paint non-stop for 2 weeks. My idea of vacation). Anyway, good luck to you both and thanks for thinking of me DH. We shall have our challenge yet, and let it be a bit more aggressive than your current battle. "I guess I'll paint something...er, if I have time. Whatever..." LoLz

Lol...thanks guys. Oftentimes I take my figure to different light sources throughout the house at different times of the day to get a good light, hence my AndyG bathroom photos.
My facial transitions went from purple brown below the eyes, to purple to red. I then glazed the skin back in to tone down the red. Maybe I should lightly glaze some back in...
I tried a new NMM metal. Bronze. The last of the metals of which I have tried out. You can see it on his mask. Probably won't appear elsewhere on the mini, unless I did a bronze with gold trim, and that may not look very good. Hope it looks like bronze...

Thanks Demi. I might change the mask back to a steel look just because it's difficult to make it look bronze, just because of it's shape and size. I'd say I was much more successful with the Bronze demon head-yet to get verdigris. What do you all think of my bronze NMM?
