No no no. I have accepted there is no logical answer, but I was saying Zab is a robot witch. Demi is the son of some painting god I'm sure.

I remain unconcerned by your witch hunt, bags of mostly water. +++Beep+++boop+++bop+++

OMG you kill me dude. Paint something else demi before I die laughing. And it better not be a robot witch.

Thanks Man! You know I have been working on those greys for the last few months. All the way back to my space men. I got pretty excited about Sprokets write up on his blog about his pallet for uncle john. He uses a lot of purple. Purple with grey is neat because temperature stays neautral (red&blue = purple) but you clearly have some nice color contrast going. Here is a link to Sprokets article.

The other thing I did was follow the box art. If you look carefully at the box art for these guys. Mr. Giraldez does all of the contrast building shading tricks, he has green and reds and blue and purple working in his shading.

The face painted itself :)

You must be a painting genius, because I, too, have poured over Sprocket's Uncle John tutorial over and over. In fact, my Goliath project (RIP) took inspiration from this tutorial; I used the exact same paints-down to the manufacturer-on Goliath's skin. I wanted a Rakarth Flesh based skin tone, but also wanted to use Ratskin Flesh because it was the basis of my NMM copper. That said, his recipe
imcluded these tones plus some more of my favorite flesh tones, and so it was of great use to me. I really can't express how helpful Sprocket's tuts have been to me. I also got my NMM coppet from him, and I'm thinking of try his bronze recipe out (after you suggested I use brown for the armor on my current project).

But enough about me. Going to vote now.

Yay holidays!

Right, so still trying to complete my Reaper project by the end of the year. I think I finished the banner. I had nearly a whole day set aside last week to work on my project, but of course, everyone was sick and the 2 YO was up at 4 AM and then my boss wanted something done and bla bla bla. I did get some painting in but really just a couple of false starts on the Jolly Roger. Tried to do some cool stuff with crackle paint but probably should just painted nice skull on there. Whatever. Next project came in the mail so I am jamming on this one to get it finished.

What do you think:

Thanks guys! I should say, this is not the false start. This is what I am going with. Thanks for the replies BTW.

I have been thinking I am to busy to post, but it's the feed back that keeps me motivated so i appreciate it :)

Looking really nice. My only question is shouldn't the flag for a skeletal pirate have a full face with skin and everything? Or does it not work like that?

Right? I also seriously considered taking a picture of the skeletons face and making a decal out of that.

Very nice Demi, like the ageing on the banner. As for the pirate symbol it was there own personal heraldry on a theme, if you look at blackbeards flag to redbeards they are each unique. This was so their reputation would strike fear into the sailors

Demi can you teach me how you did your banner please. Maybe like a detailed SBS or something. I have been trying and trying and failing and failing to get my skaven banner to look cool but it continues to look like crap.

Dude, no, the crackle paint is awesome. Keep keep keep. The fabric texture came out really nice, too.

Hmmmm...overall I like the banner, though Inthink you should work some more on the cross bones on the right side of the banner. They are a bit rough and hard to distinguish the form. Also, what are the white streaks on the bottom of the banner? Kind of look like salt deposits...

Thanks for the crit man. It's tough to pick out the details with out making the texture look crappy and I am not sure I am going to have time to make another pass at it. The resin pouring is turning into a HUGE project LOL. The white stuff is supposed to be salt stains so I guess I nailed that :)
