Demihuman's DemiWIP

As a fun little side project, I reccomend heading to your nearest Michael's to buy a book on painting fantasy art. There are a few out there, some specializing in Steampunk, some on dragons, etc...well, they give very close SBS instructions on how to draw out the subject, and then how to subsequently paint them. While they describe colors based upon your standard oil colors, they give advice for acrylics and watercolors too. Or you can just make the oil burnt umber the acrylic Rhinox hide, etc. ANYWAY, I am planning to use this to paint a banner in this manner. Rammer jammer yellow hammer.

Okay Nearly done with my D&D dudes. Got the Prince Mage NPC done, the Bard and the Druid. I also painted up a Bison, the Beerbarian has a pet bison that roams around with him on his adventures. it was very very easy to paint and cheap so there it is. I might clean up that white underlining on his decoration. The OSL is a little cheesey, but none of my RPG friends are painters at all so, I think they are going to be blown away by it. I am going to do a little Air brush OSL SBS in the next post so stay tuned!

Sorry for the big picture. One more mini to go and i will switch back to your normally scheduled display painting :)

I like them a lot - I never used minis for RPGs, but if you have 'right' minis that also are painted this well, it adds to the game.

I like this last batch also!!
I can imagine the man with the beard flirting with a young burgess lady meanwhile some rogue companion steals her pockets xD

I want to game with Demi, so I can drool on his minis.
So yeah I am with KB. I want to game with Demi too. Here is how it would go. Diggs, your party is leaving the tavern, what would you like to do? "I continue to admire myself in the mirror" (as I continue marveling at the Demi painted mini)

Great work on all, but the Witch one is my favorite too. You really brought out the expression on her face.

I'm sure Demi can attest - it's a great sculpt so it must be a joy to paint (easier too with those nice details). I keep taking her out of my cupboard and looking at her and whispering "You're so pretty. Someday... Someday.." It's creepy, but I'm cool with it. I also like that Astrid the bard from Reaper ;)

Yeah Zab is right, it's a really fun sculpt, it comes with the fox. All of the Reaper Pathfinder "iconic" minis are really nice. Jolie the scribe is another great one. Reaper minis are not as smooth as plastics though and nowhere near as crisp as resin or the nicer metal figs, so be prepared.

Speaking of which, the last mini for this group is from Darksword and I have to say, I am blown away by how fine the detail is. The little folds in the fabric are especially very crisp. It does seem like like their sculpts are little tall and thin looking. The one I am working on is easily the tallest of the batch of "28mm" minis. Should have some pics up in teh next day or two. planning on being done this week!

BFoK, it's on!

Here is the last of the D&D party. Pretty fun to paint although the NMM got a little tedious on on her spear head:

I'll get some better pics up soon.
