Okay, there is some more done on the reptilliads, but I am burning out. So I am doing some quick painting on some minis for the gaming group. These are both about 3 hour paint jobs. The awesome beerbarian is from Beer and D6's which I think, is an offshoot of one of the arty mini companies, and the other guy is an older Reaper sculpt. The Reaper sculpt is pretty rough/doughy, but I love his pose and little smirk.

Thanks guys! It's pretty incredible how the difference between a 7.5 paint job and 8.5 is like 1000% more time. I think i need to find a happy medium. Anyways here are couple more. The Native american guy is my own barbarian archer character. The other guy is a pretty classic halfling monk. It's pretty interesting how the better sculpts make this kind of painting so much easier.

Nice work I think the archer is really nice, what are the minis they look too good to be bones! It's true about time you can nut something out pretty quick, but to make it better takes way more time.

Not bones. The monk is an older metal Reaper fig. The Native American is a by a company called Crunchy Waffle, He is pretty good actually. On par with Reaper's better stuff.

The time factor is interesting, I feel like the more miniatures I finish the more I learn, sometimes the more involved projects feel like I get diminishing returns. I am hoping that if I practice more speed painting I will get to the point were I can crank out a display mini in like 10 hours instead of 30. It certainly is gratifying to pop them off the dolly and call them done :)

I've had that thought also, focusing on a few things and working on that then getting the rest banged out and move on to the next experiment. I'm still at the stage where a lot of things are new but I feel I have the technique and knowledge to apply with out having to worry about every step. It just makes going the little bit extra on what you already know much easier. Just like you I actually find the shorter time length minis more gratifying too.

It's nice to get stuff done! I hear they say that painting faster is just a question of practice. I don't know, though. :p

That said, those guys are great, fast job or not!

Thanks guys! Okay, It is the very last day of the Massive Voodoo contest and I really want to enter something. So I am going to try and bang out one of my Rackham Dwarf bases. Canny's base was mostly built and I think has some good potential so here it is:

Got some brass etch foliage to put on there. I think brass etch is very easy to use so shouldn't be a problem :p

Sorry, I haven't had much time for foruming these last couple of weeks. I will be back with my sensitive, insightful, input soon. I have couple more quick paint guys coming out too!

Added a bunch of "moss" and a few sculpted plants. You can't see the subtle magenta points because of all the magenta overspray in the photo, but they are there!
