Electrolito\'s WIP\'s

Sorry, but these are just no good. I am afraid I shall have to confiscate them and put them up in my display case as an example of how not to paint minis. I am sorry for the inconvenience.

Havent done anything but conversions with the Ravenwing but nothing worth showing yet. To break up the cycle I started doing some of my regular Dark Angels Marines and this is the product of my lack of effort... tried a great technique which is very quick and efficient for armies if I want them to look decent, and with a little more effort could look pretty damn good for gaming mini\'s...

Here is my concept marine using the new technique, probably a good 8 hours spent on this one total (between glue on base drying, whatever)...

Then this last pic is the latest I am working on which took probably 2 hours combined... The temperature in the house dropped and made my DA Green all fluorecsent when diluted(without noticing) and dont know why??? but these are gaming minis so not too worried if some look very green...

Do you think these would make really nice gaming pieces (given the lack of effort) ? Someone please tell me..... I want to know to see if it is worth the try or not...

Thanks guys!!! I take it as a yes go on with the style then.... So the steps are so easy its unbeliavable the response I got. Basically it is:
- a base color of DA green
- two layers of highlights of Bleached Bone and DA Green in two different tones only on the raised edges as light would affect it
- a quick wash over the Highlights of plain DA green to smooth it up
- a little bit of VMC black watered down for shadows in the lower areas and crevices
-then a final highlight of DA Green and Bleached Bone at about 1:1 ratio with my W&N Series 7 size 0 brush and thats it lol

I am basically doing that with all the colors on the scheme includiong the freehand so not too complicated like I said, pretty much I should be able to have a full squad of 10 marines in a week to this standard!!! I stole the idea from my brother kind of doing this with his Night Lords Army and it works perfect!

Your concept of keeping the highlighting simple on those DA is spot on. I would second being very happy with those on the tabletop.

So are you gonna do much with the new Ravenwing and DA sprues? I have the big army box (traded in a bunch of old \"investments\" from when I worked at GW and had discount ;)) and I must say the new plastic accessories for the Dark Angels absolutely blew my mind.

BTW a whole army of Dark Angels done to that standard would be fantastic. Even moreso with the new bitz :D

<edit>I hate to say it, but there\'s no bike HQ allowed except for the Master of the Ravenwing on jetbike or Landspeeder... can I have your Chaplain ;) </edit>

They are looking superb. This is really going to be one superb army once its all done & I imagine any player would be happy to field an army painted to this high standard.

Ignore my previous comment, you can take Librarians and Chaplains on bikes after all. Somehow I missed it with the new layout of the book :)

Those Tactical Marines looks awesome though. Gonna be a sweet army once it\'s all done.

How are those Landspeeders coming along?

Larre: I know, especially when properly used in a sentence...

Jericho: The Land Speeders... hmmm... well I have only started working on one and it is not completely assembled yet since I am still working on the sketches themselves. I have an Attack bike (which you get to see before anyone else) That I am getting ready to start painting as soon as I am done with the DA marine squad. Looking forward to getting my hands on one of those Ravenwing sprues though...

Yeah they are super hot indeed. Shoulder pads, helmets, robed biker bits, oh my!

There\'s a million infantry sized and a lot of tank sized icons on there as well. Very cool stuff. Not to mention Master of the Ravenwing Landspeeder parts :D

I figured I would post some progress after a couple more hours of work put into it... still a bit to do on these...

Plasma Cannon needs to get finished, the veteran Sgt\'s face/plasma pistol/under-robe/gold accents and chainsword, the breathers on the tactical marines and finally the freehand and bases on all of them... I am going to try and finish these bastards once and for all tomorrow but like yesterday, no guarantee... :cussing:

I am very pleased with the results since I have never painted this fast before, it usually takes me at least a month to finish a single figure and these guys will be done in a week +/-... so very happy guy here except for I keep taking longer than expected... on stupid gaming mini\'s... I guess that\'s what you get when you know you can do better ...

Mould line! Mould line! I hate Marine feet and the amount of work they take to look \"right\" ... I really do :p

Anyway they look great man. I know how hard it is to paint less than your best effort on a guy, I have to do it all the time or I\'d never get a squad finished let alone an army. And I do plan on doing that again someday... it\'s been emberassingly long since I got an army actually legitimately finished. Like 5 years probably lol
