@GobboTeef: The red is Apple Barrel\'s Bright Red. For Gaming minis I use most Apple Barrel colors to paint in bulk. One thing you need to do with AB paints is that you need to use many, many, many, many thin coats, because if you try to use it to cover with it on 2 or 3 coats it will get very chunky, that\'s just the way their cheap ass paint is lol ... it does not cover very well.
So,
I start with a mix of the red and black and just start mixing it up to the bright red. Then for the highlights, I mix it with Apple Barrel Canary Yellow until you are pleased. What I do so it doesn\'t turn out pink or too orange is after each highlight do a quick glaze of bright red, this also helps keep your mixes to a minimum. Same thing with shading, if you wajt to add extra shading you can do so the same way you would highlight except for with the dark mix, using glazes after the shading is applied so it blends in with the red again.
