How do I get to be a Senior?

The \"oi reverend\" seems to have dissapeared?

How TF do I get to 500 posts if people keep on delaeting threads with my wonderfully witty (I wish) comments in them. Seems like i\'ve been at 465 for ages:D

This is really about the read being pulled - who did it?

By the looks of things it must have been the originator of the thread.

I can see NO moderator locked thread for \"Oi Rev\".
The originator might have been asked to delete the thread but not by me. From what I saw of it yesterday the thread content was rather well behaved.

I thought so too, despite my slightly inflammatory comment on the nature of God (always a touchy subject to be sure...) Much more civilized than the corresponding furball on Fark.com to be sure!

That or you can do this and risk getting your head shaved.
OK I\'m kidding, I\'m kidding

Really, though just lend your two cents and it\'ll add up fast.

Maybe in middle America and other such wacky places. In generally secular (for the most part) Western Europe, most of us know that God (as portrayed in the old and new testaments) doesn\'t actually exist, so you can say what you want about him.

I don\'t think you\'re suposed to make of you believes a general thing. Western europe is pretty big, and I\'m ready to bet you haven\'t seen half of it. And for having traveled around a lot I can tell you that statment is totally wrong. Actually guess what, the vatican is in western europe !!!

Just a caution here, Ghey Boy, choose your words very carefully, for you reveal far more about yourself than you realise. Even a small thing like this: \"...most of us believe that God...\" is an improvement beyond measure. Touchy subject, so do be careful, dear boy.

Last thread we had going that started on this line we had folks quit the site all together for whatever side they were on.

So hmmmmm, that\'s maybe why religion and politics specific discussions are best treated with kid gloves if at all.
---me all I say is weeeeeeeeeeeeeeee:duh::bouncy::flip:

Religion and politics should never be discussed in polite company, if you wish it to remain polite company, right? I can understand that.

It\'s the polite company that makes me like this place so much. Anybody who\'s quit CMON over a discussion here obviously hasn\'t seen what the rest of the Internet is like!

Sample politics discussion on Fark.com:

USER1 - \"Liberals are so stupid, they probably love teh terrorists. Thats why they didn\'t want liberate Iraq.\"
USER2 - \"You\'re totally wrong! That war was about oil and greed! Dead babies for oil.\"
USER1 - \"Traitor! If your kind had their way we\'d be speaking Russian right now! America would be better if you were put in boxcars and shipped to Canada.\"
USER2 - \"Boxcars? A perfect method for Nazis like you.\"

... and downhill from there!

Well it seems fine now Rev. :D

@ NSA - I am so glad that this site is not like that. Yes there have been some bickering in the past few months, but for the most part this is a really well behaved forum.

OK, it was rather a sweeping generalisation. Having said that though, church attendance in western Europe is way down from, say, 30 years ago, and dropping still further all the time. Religion plays less and less of a part in most peoples lives, and many states are openly secular (do you live in France frenchkid? I don\'t, but I have seen a lot of stuff in the news recently about French schools virtually banning religion. Just one example of the religious landscape).

@Modd - I wasn\'t trying to be in any way offensive. And please do not take offence when I say that changing the statement from \"...know...\" to \"...believe...\" would, in itself, be kind of, err, bowing down to religious persecution (that sounds a little harsh, but I can\'t think of a more diplomatic way of putting it. In other words, I am perfectly happy for a religious person to say \"I know god exists\", I think I should be allowed to say \"I know god doesn\'t exist\").

p.s, I don\'t happen to believe in the \"big bang theory\", it is totally incredulous and very, very contradictory. But I also don\'t believe in the stories related to us by the bible either. I am kind of an in-betweener.

Hehehe!

I started the thread in question, and deleted it when \'people\' started hijacking it with \'theology\'.

Bloody religion - you can see why it has caused so many wars....:D
