OK, it was rather a sweeping generalisation. Having said that though, church attendance in western Europe is way down from, say, 30 years ago, and dropping still further all the time. Religion plays less and less of a part in most peoples lives, and many states are openly secular (do you live in France frenchkid? I don\'t, but I have seen a lot of stuff in the news recently about French schools virtually banning religion. Just one example of the religious landscape).
@Modd - I wasn\'t trying to be in any way offensive. And please do not take offence when I say that changing the statement from \"...know...\" to \"...believe...\" would, in itself, be kind of, err, bowing down to religious persecution (that sounds a little harsh, but I can\'t think of a more diplomatic way of putting it. In other words, I am perfectly happy for a religious person to say \"I know god exists\", I think I should be allowed to say \"I know god doesn\'t exist\").
p.s, I don\'t happen to believe in the \"big bang theory\", it is totally incredulous and very, very contradictory. But I also don\'t believe in the stories related to us by the bible either. I am kind of an in-betweener.
