metal looks pretty good now. The darker shades on the gold help a lot and I really like the sword.

Oh man!
It's true the darker tones especially on the dagger handle are looking great!
Coming together really well.
You're doing such a great job, I want to paint one too!

Wow, bro! Sword looks dope!! Gold looks MUCH better. Actually, it look like gold!!!!! Great improvement over all and now I need you to teach me how its done :)

One minor suggestion on the gold. Put a purple glaze in the spots that you want the darkest. In a couple areas where you already have some shadow, put an even smaller shadow iside of them of your purple glaze. I suggest a pretty dark purple, just add water and matt medium if you have it...and then pin wash the areas. This will give you one more level of shadow and further sell the effect. Your glints are on point. Perfect. Now do the same with your shadow....

Here goes, made part of helmet, not to happy, or I am to tired... reminder don't paint when you are tired or judge your work :)
Comments are welcomed.

And thanks for all support in earlier posts.

It looks fine. Go back and tweak it next time you are in the groove. I like the heavier outline on the central mountain.

First update for the day, The helmet area has been solved by continuing the star pattern up onto the helmet, it all fits better now. After that I started with the gold part and well... this is a bigger area and I don't seem to get it right. Think that I should redo that part to have more straight areas for the gold and not try to get every corner to be light.

Suggestions or good reference picture would be appreciated. (will look myself also... if I do remember I should look into LAN studios gallery...)

Lovely work here kretcher. Great free hand on the cloak and helmet! Ok the gold a couple of tips you need to have it going from white through mid tones all the way to black the section you've got on the back is quite flat so the mid tones are going to predominate. Also remember flat vertical lines on large sections are a quick effective cheat. Also all edges must be highlited. Also make sure you direction of light is consistent. I hope that is helpful. Have a look what I did with the bottom arrow on the shield I did see what I mean about flat lines (not vertical in this case because my light source is deliberately off centre). Hope you think I'm not being a know it all twat loads better painters out there will tell you different techniques just trying to help ;)

Thanks for the picture and advice Andy, it made me realize that I needed to go darker on the areas I had on the back. I have applied that advice and it is now better, need to practice NMM on another figure sometime. but for this one it is soon finished. Have to be ready for competition tomorrow so :)

Had already decided on direction of lines before I saw your example... next time I will have your piece as reference...also need to get sharp transitions smoother... Will work some more on that on my figure then I will let it be for this time.

Also on a side note, will properly go to London during July with the family, my wife will be traveling to Cambridge one day for a conference and we will try to make a mini vacation at the same time. If there is someone that lives nearby that wants too meet it would be great too meet in person with some more people from this place :)

Thanks for the help Andy.
