looking really good there. dark and grimm. like the glowing book.
what colors are you thinking of for the cape/back of the robe, if one may ask? It could use some contrast colors to the others, imho.

keep up the good work.

Already a big improvement. Perhaps even more could be done to make it glow with further use of white and bright blues, but it\'s much more effective now I think.

I\'ve also just spotted that the left side of the neck guard and left side of the parchment on his front (as you look at it) need some light source elements removing, because the light from the book wouldn\'t hit them.

The face is tip top though.

thx for the comments guys! :D

I was thinking a red robe. with some nmm enbroidery on it :)

actually lono, there is a small amount of the light effects there, because there the is a small amount of light that actually gets there, and the point was that it should be on the inside, I might have accidently painted some on the outside.
then on the parchment on is chest it might be good to reduse the light a bit as you say.

Hey Larre, sorry I missed this one - real life yadayada..anyway...

Looks really good so far and quite ambitious! The OSL from the book is a nice idea but I think there are a few things to improve on here. Firstly I think the writing needs improving on. I can see several patches where the paint has thinned down and I can see the page underneath. Also, I think some of the lines are too thick - as in width, not paint application.

There are several touch ups as you mentioned to do on the shield - the highlight on the little \'v\' cut on the shield is too thick (again as in width) and the highlights could do with some intermediate tones before them.

Sorry to seem a bit pedantic but I feel these areas let the model down. However, I have to say you are doing a great job so far so keep it up ;)

Cheers,
Tom

I\'m very pleased with the elf so far, and it\'s quite a big close-up of the face, so when it is a bit smaller it will look much better :)

Looks great Larre! You have pulled the OSL off really well and the metals are looking good too. My only criticism would be that the hand looks too dark and not the same flesh tone as the face and that the purity seal parchment looks a little weird in grey. Other than that marvellous

The high elf looks really amazing, the skin is a class above your others...I wait eagerly for the progress on that one! :D

Cheers,
Tom

I still have some cleaning up to do on the swirly patterns, it\'s a bit messy atm.
and I don\'t really know what to do with the cloak ??? any suggestions?

about the conversion, I have scratch built the flame of green stuff and I have attached a wood elf sword (that is the closest to a high elf sword as I\'ve got) instead of the round ball thing :p

I hope you like it :)

comments and constructive critique is allways a pleasure :)

Larre, it looks good. Now, as a very small suggestion, the thing about freehand is, that if you want it tolook good, thedefinition needs to be very sharp between the two intended surfaces. In this case, the purple needs to be very dark where in contact with the white. What this does is, it defines the lines and makes them sharper, thus giving you a very sharp and clean looking freehand. Usually when I do freehand, I use the paint to a bit thicker ratio than I would for highlighting the rest of the areas, as it gives me that \"sharp\" edge and the better coverage one time on whatever detail I would like to add. Then I use highlights on the freehand to give it a bit more legitimacy or to make it look the part, intead of it looking like its just there... I don\'t really know if you will understand since my writing (typed communication) skills are very rough. But I think you will at least get steered in the right direction. Keep it going bro!

you are basicly saying.. darker base colour... sharper freehand, highlights to the freehand?
I will give it a try! :D

oh, and btw... are you talking about the \"swirly patterns\" or all the freehand?

thx electrolito! :D

Loving that freehand on the back, really nice NMM. The whole mini is coming together very smoothly :) Perhaps you could introduce some purple swirlies onto the back of his cloak to help the scheme tie together?

Really nice! I like the face especially :D About the sword though - I don\'t really like it. If you are not careful then your piece could go into a blue overload. I would keep it silver to break up the blue. A few other points - the shading on the cream tunic is a bit too harsh. I like the cross pattern on it though. The freehand on the inside of the cloak still seems a bit messy though - the purple where you touched it up is a lighter shade than the rest of it- it really needs to be a uniform colour.

But overall it is looking great ;) Especially the face, that is my favourite part on the model :D

Looking forward to more progress on this and the fattie lol

Cheers,
Tom

No, not the same swirly patterns as you used on the inside of the cloak, but just some subtle purple elements incorporated into the NMM freehand maybe, like a High Elf glyph or a freehand jewel, or something. I also agree with Tom about the sword, you should definitely make it metallic.
