Look sicks hang in there kids are tough and I’m sure the little one will be more than fine in life. Maybe even influenced in painting eh. Now as for painting what and how you know I’m very big on that whole “do what you know if that’s the trait.. encourage it “ bottom line. There have been some just simply amazing pieces that have come out of your thread as you’ve progressed volumes already. So keep it going. If it’s not broke... it shouldn’t be fixed up. As far as comp it’s a win lose situation you always feel like you want to win( nothing wrong with that) it’s human nature. However it can suck when you lose.. again , it’s human nature.only recently have I come to learn that I’m happy with my painting wether I win or lose. But if I didn’t have 20 awards I think ide feel different. To me competition validated my work and it validates it to myself. That’s it nothing more to it. Will I ever think that comp isn’t important.. no cause it also does other things- 2) forces you to finish projects2) has you constantly improving in a die hard way to be able to keep a somewhat level to even consider myself able to enter. This and other things aside it feels good to win. It feels good when my fav football team wins, it felt good to win in comp boxing, or weightlifting meets. Again it’s human nature to strive and strive to be better than the norm at least. No one EVER starts anything and says “ I’m doing this endeavor to be mediocre at it” it just isn’t human.
so take these for whatever it’s just my feelings and what I desire and aspire to. Always will.
