And what\'s wrong with a pintle mount heavy stubber?
Counts as very well for a big shoota! Looted wagon may as well loot the \'umie gun too!.(sheepishly, I did build a new pintle mount and use a big shotoa instead. More dakka than a stubber)

Thanks again, everyone for the cool words. Makes me feel all warm inside knwoing we\'re inpirin\' others to do their stuff! Between shoveling out from the snow, laundry and other household chores, I\'ve been able to prime and start painting my wagon. I\'m starting with the grot riggers and drivers head (that\'s all you\'ll see in there, really).
I\'ve decided to not go over this with the Dremel and as Lemmingspawn suggested, paint the rest of the damage. Here\'s proof that building is done and I\'ve started slapping paint. Watch out Uber, I\'ve made some deals with people in low places to top your painting...

i think you should give up now. i here that there will soon be a shortage of guys named randy in minnesota due to zombies more selective eating habits. they are attracted to paint pots used for painting miniatures. i would reccomend you throw them away immediately.lol

alas poor suki didnt know that uberdark had already been turned into a zombie. the smell of paint pots and a poorly assembled looted wagon (sukis wagon of course not ubers organ of death) were too much for uberzombie to pass up, the battle was long and hard, the crowbar hit his head but there was nothing there, the chainsaw out of gas, the shotgun dropped to the side, the katana broken due to the curse of the tabi ork. randy aka sukigod waited for the inevitable as uberzombie began to eat into his forearm. the smell of paint filling his nostrils as he stepped on the poorly executed looted wagon that sukigod had created.

I wasn\'t going to say anything, this being a contest and all, but how come some of the parts of the tank don\'t have the chipped/weathered edges? The gun itself being the most obvious... looks a bit strange to have some clean lines and mostly roughed-up ones. Other than that, looking good, the both of yas.

Ubers bite proved to be futile as his chomp came up empty handed (hehe) and empty headed. Although no one realized (no on bothered to ask, really), Sukigod was already a zombie. There could be no other excuse for painting over 4,000 points worth of orks...
@Jericho: I had noticed this after priming. I\'ll be taking the Dremel to this to match the damage on the rest of the vehicle. I think I was more worried about the structural aspect early on (when the gun carraige was done) and didn\'t think about it untill later parts of the wagon.

well i got some more done over the weekend and am about 70% done with the paint job. i am particularly happy with how the exhaust pipes turned out on the front four. i am not done with the back exhausts yet. i have to admit that i love the new wahses but the old brown ink is still my favorite. the side is completely done on one side and the top is done as well, with the exception of the grot on top with the hatch.
the boomgun: man i am not liking it.... after talking with the wife last night i am gonna repaint the entire thing. the metals do not work on the boomgun either. so i am painting it back black and doing the silver scrapes on it like i have the rest.
the front of the battering ram will also be brought up a notch in brightness as well. i do not know if i will have enough time to do the driver riding the boomgun but will try to finish him. my gs skills are not very good.
oh and suki: i recently got into the japanese movies...... the 70s films i stopped watching about two years ago. my alll time favorite is \"i spit on your grave.\" man that bath scene still gets me to this day. *shivers*
anyhow without further ado.

its pretty sweet, the exhaust does look great you really made it look, uh... well used (my words just failed me, thank god college made me so articulate). If you understand me, that you can really picture those pipes running hot for long periods and then the metal changes color slightly.
I think someone mentioned it earlier, and I have to agree, that those the metallics look great (as in contrast and highlighting) but they dont seem very battle scarred or dinged up. Im really not sure how youd achieve that look but Im sure someone (if not yourself) on this site would know.

Have a search in the gallery for capt. Berus...could you do the damage and tone down the reds that way?
ok i just looked at the berus mini and the cloth is almost entirely orange. i cant tone it down anymore than what it is or it will begin to lose the whole feel of an ork looted wagon. as for that kind of chipping i just dont see that happening. i dont have the time to change all of the tank. are you saying to get rid of some of the metal scratches and just keep em\' black or brown?

not the metallics on the red those look great, but since they are so battle damaged (and look great) the cannon in the front and even the exhaust pipes look aged but like they havent seen a battle. when all the red look like its seen a dozen fights or even a demolition derby.
