I am now puzzled as to what to paint on the standard itself, i would like to do some freehand designs but can\'t think how to do it without making the whole model look busy. maybe something a bit more subtle like pale blue and regal blue designs?

Yeh its always worth trying, who knows if you keep asking maybe someday i\'ll crack, but not yet!
Medved - it took me about 3 hours in total, if you do them in a kind of production line it gets done much quicker, you know, do all the verticl lines, then all the horizontal lines and so on, i have to admit by the end of it i was really starting to shake and the last few came out bit weird lol but one of the hardest parts was doing all of the dimonds, Good luck though

The bottle was an experiment for me aswell, because i\'d not done anything like this, but it was done exactly as you would see it 2d, so first the dark red was painted, then the light red oval shape was painted on and highted around the edges, and the rest was painted a light bluish grey to show the refraction of the blue/white designs behind it, i thinly coated it in gloss varnish, its meant to look like red wine, but probably looks more like blood , the trouble with this kind of thing is that this is the only angle where it looks ok, turn the mini a bit and it looks completely fake! never mind though

@freakinacage - Cheers, the backpack icon is from the new plastic command squad.
All the WIP\'s are amazing really gfiving me something to look up to.
now on to my latest WIP
The metal is still needing a little work in places but is mostly done, the red is finished although my photography has hurt it a little. The black still needs highlighting ansd the model needs weathering.
A few questions though...
I was thinking of basing him on an ash wastes kind of base, like the marine he is next to in the comparison shot. Anyone have any better\\ more characterful ideas (altough I do not want anything that adds too much height to him)?
How should I weather the black? I really have no idea other than just the odd paint chips...
Is the green gem good?
What colour should his beard be?
What colour should the chainsword handle be?
I welcome your comments.

Long time since i post here, but the exmans are over again
this is my last mini, im painting my bretonnian army, hope this time i finish it, since i only use 1 unit of knights i decided to give them a speciall look, so im painting the heraldy with real Spanish family shields, ive always loved heraldy and freehand so im having a great time, this will be the champion of the unit, he has my own shield (Gonzalez) hope you like it

Well I haven\'t pit any pics up in here for a while and just in case you haven\'t seen it in the Miniswap thread here is the mini I\'m working on at the moment,
I like the mini though it is very fiddly to do. I need to smooth out some of the blends and also have not quite decided on a base for it but I am sure something will come to fruition very shortly. I hope you like it so far.
