Hi, i\'ve followed the advice of aragorn-mate about the axe and that\'s what comes:

slayer1.jpg

as always advice and things to improve are welcome, also i need some nice idea for the base :)

A
stunning!

that axe looks superb, and really complements the mini, im glad my advice was helpful. :D

for the base if base him on a rock standing pround as all dwarves do :p lol, or on a base remembeling the floor of 1 of there underground kingdoms, like moria in lord of the rings, somethign along that line, or you could always mount him up on a dead troll :D or giant, depending of hes a troll layer, giant slayer, etc. and of couse! you have to use toadstooles :D all fantasy minis have to include toadstools lol, unless your chaos then just wack a few skulls here and there lol,

anyways enough of the rambling nice work, glad my advice was help full and should have my frodo on here soo, when i remember to do it in day light lol :D

Argh too late aragorn-mate, i\'ve already done the base...see i\'ve supposed slayers are wandering people in the outside world and no more underground dwellers, so i gave him a grass base, very simple but in the background i think.

Medved...

I am trying to decide if you are mad or inspired???

Could you post a picture of what that lizard should have looked like, next to the best image of your conversion. IMO the head-on shot...

Thought I\'d join the fun

Here is a mini I started last weekend. I believe this is Marcus Gideon - Undead Hunter from reaper. I haven\'t finished him yet, but I\'m pretty pleased with the work so far. I\'ve painted the face with a 5:00 shadow like his been in the field for a few days. I\'m playing around with my metallics and thought this looked like a fun mini to experiment with. let me know what you all think!

good work guys, yeah you could add more shadowing to the armour and it should look pretty cool with it,

that dragons awsome man! , where on earth did you get it? lol

Thanks

@tiddico - thanks for the comment. That is an awesome dragon, it is a real shame they don\'t make it anymore. I had one that got absolutely destroyed in my last move and I haven\'t found the time to put it back together yet. And from what I\'ve seen of your painting skills, I can\'t wait to see this bad boy when you get done with him!!

@Aragorns_mate - yep, you and tiddico are right, another level of shading or two on the plate armor and a few repairs to the chain and the armor will be good. I really like this mini too but it\'s got about 5 too many belts and buckles!! lol

Cheers,
Grumb :)

well, ive got one!

and shes TINY! shes part of the Halloween Familiars put out by reaper. but she looked more like a goth halfling to me, so thats what she is.(the wings are just cool looking, not part of the overall halfling chick look...oh alright, shes small and looked goth, not neccessarrly halfling...)

i am personally pretty proud of the skin tone on this one. i wanted it to look pale but not undead.

@ finn, just look in any white dwarf. or on the gw website. they are horrible plug-in models. i wanted to recreat the pose kinda like the lizard man on the index page of the uk white dwarf 298.
i am slowly going mad..........but it worked as an exercise, i know know how to make scales and wavey tails. next test will be working towards a full green or maybe a face...........its all ramon laan\'s fault.

Heyyy ... I like that one. Somehow she reminds me of Lydia in Beetlejuice (the cartoon). Hmmm. Cut the wings, stick a hat on her... I\'m gonna have to go do my bi-annual browse of Reaper\'s site. lol

While I\'m here, a few suggestions. The skin tones are real nice. They don\'t look especially pale to me, but a) the picture may have something to do with it, and b) my skintones are usually pale anyway so my reference is off. If she\'s so small, congratulations on the eyes. In fact, the whole face looks real good :).
You might want to add a little white spot on her lower lip to show a gloss. I think it\'s a nice touch on female minis.
As for the hair, I think the highlights should be mucho stronger and stark.

Um. Hard to say more without you painting some more first :D.

i normally give minis a really ruddy complexion...maybe i should go lighter to hype up the goth aspect.

i tried that whole dab of white on the lower lip and lost the lip, im using a 30/0 just to paint normally, its been a real pain.

starker highlights eh? sure! they were up to stony grey with a glaze of midnight blue, maybe i should go up to ivory then.

go to your dice bag and pull out a normal sizes die 6, thats how tall she is, a little taller, but not much.

Here\'s the next arctic guy, with a pretty poor attempt at glowing eyes...need to work some more on that. Acyually there\'s quite a lot of work left on this one, but I like the sword, boots and loin cloth:
