Now I need some advice...
Well guys, I\'m working on the freehand on the minis right kneepad (the green I). I\'m really poor at freehand, so any advice is appreciated. Have I done enough, or should I try and tidy the lines up? Is it plausible, or even necessary to highlight a detail so small, and if so, how do I do it?

I\'ve since tidied up the \'I\', a LOT! It\'s too late to take pictures, but thinking about it, its almost unfeasible to highlight a logo that small (it\'s painted with a 00 brush for crying out lout!). Also, I think it\'s a tad unrealistic. Anyone got any examples to the contrary?

i think for a table piece the level is really high, especially on the face and the kneepads. lines are pretty blurry in the =I= try to retouch them with the base colour
Thanks Tony. I fancied doing a bit more with the sergent than \'bog standard\' table top. I know it aint GD, but I read on a tutorial that you can only truly improve in painting by pushing your own bounderies.
I actually used a slightly different technique on the freehand stuff. Tell me what you think to it...
I\'m painting the design on top of about 3 thin layers of gloss varnish, which allows me to scratch the excess green paint I dont want off with a wet wooden toothpick, thus restoring the paint colour with 0% varnish damage. I then seal it all up with another thin coat of gloss, then paint on Vallejo matt varnish to finish up (I dont want to do that till I\'m 100% happy though!)
I\'ll get a fresh shot up tomorrow so you can see the result, if you\'re interested.

P.S. The face and the knee pads are the only painted bits so far dude! I\'d hope they are the only bits that are any good, otherwhise my primer would be doing a better job than me lol

As far as i can tell this guy is from Heartbreaker Games (thanks MIck from EFS) had him for a while now figured id give a fantasy a go, any suggestions on colours for the cloth would be appreciated, and the finish isnt that grainy the editer i just got is a bit finiky about black and bright lights...lol

Hey again Tagger, I was looking throughout this forum and I have one command- errm piece of advice for you:
Paint the purity seal green or blue! Personally, I think that blue would provide the best contrast between the purplish robes. Post up a pic when your done.
@Tony, the light sourcing from the handle of the sword seems too bright (where the light is coming from). The colours reflection the gem on the end of the sword look right, but the gem looks too bright for my liking.

@Ainu hehe did them red last night and posted the pic already see my submission thread =D
Update on the Dragon Hunter, i decided to go with a red main cloak (no theres is actually no black there its a reall really deep brown/red) but in more muted realistic colours heres where its at now:
still no clue what im gonna do for the under skirt/arms and spears ribbon so any tips there would be great. Also not sure if i wanna do the dragon on his helm the same silver or paint it in a compliment colour. Leather parts will most likely either be brown or black depending which way i go =D

I\'m still working on the griffin, but also started this mini. This is a Reaper Warlord mini. The dwarven version of cavalry!!!
I ran out of black primer so I used a brown primer instead. will be interesting to see how the paint goes on over it.

Small update, after consulting my friend who does not paint but has a very realistic outlook on everything we revamped the DH heres where he is atm cause if i was hunting dragons i wouldnt wanna be shiny...lol and that dragon on his head was a bit to big tbh, along with another fig ill be redoing =D:
