griffon lancer
D´oh ... erased the first pic as a mistake ... Okay, gives me the chance to post a slightly better picture of the lancer. This one is a just for fun tryout on NMM. maybe you all know the background with the title chrom photoshop can create. It´s this high reflecting surface showing the brown ground with a horizon and blue sky. Always looked like too much colors for me, but it made me courious how this looks on a mini. So i did the normal sky-earth steps to create the horizon and the skyarea. I used the old nauseating blue from GW in addition with neutral grey. This gives a really nice blue shine. If mixed with black and white it creates a nice grey-purple. After the area above the horizon was finished, i mixed some beige brown to the basecolor and began to paint the earth. This area was highlighted to pure beige brown. I added ocre marron to beige brown and again highlighted to pure ocre marron. The area was finished with a last highlight in goldbrown. I wanted to do this effect on the whole armour, not only the breastplates. So i did on the legs and the armplates as you can see in the picture (the first pic wasn´t this good, so it was hard to see it). To see where the areas of earth touching the sky are, i glossed the mini before painting and hold it into light. This seems to be a good way to get areas reflecting light defined. Before painting the gloss was stripped. Hope you´ll like this little experiment ;) comission work on request visit www.headblast.de for further information ;)
