Templerkommandeur Sered

this is my fav confrontation miniature at the moment. Rackham did just an absolute perfect job on him :) Maybe it could be interesting for you, how i did the swirls on the cloak: First step was to give the cloak a base colour. I always prime black, so it was necessary to start with a light brown. Beige brown or snakebite does a good job for this first step. This brown is just used to get better results with the lighter colours later. So the next step was to blend the cloak. I used some ochre brown with white to achive the darkest colour in the pleats. I highlighted up to a colour near to sunny skintone. Not to bright for the moment, as it gets harder to paint the circles on the robe, the lighter it is. Now i started to paint bigger circles with bleached bone on the robe. The smaller inner circles were painted into the bigger ones. This was necessary to get an equal pattern of circles. Now the circles have been highlighted according to the cloaks folds. Higher areas to bright white, lower areas to a mixture of bleached bone and white. After this was done i did some corrections on the circles with ochre brown. The circles looked accurate now, but the difference of the shade between the circles and the light colour of the circles was just too heavy. To avoid this i used some watered down white (water: white 10:1). This needs some care and i think it´s only possible with excellent colours like valejos. Eh voila, circles done :) To finish the freehands on the robe i painted some runes with a mixture of transparent blue and white on the edge. Those runes were highlighted a bit and it was done. Took some time and a lot of nerves, but i think it was worth it ;) Hope you´ll enjoy it.
